Radio City
Music Hall recently finished an unparalleled
restoration - bringing back all the splendor of it's
past while installing state-of-the-art technology for
its future. The Music Hall cost approximately $8
million dollars to build in the early 1930s. The
world-famous marquee is as long as a NYC block and
consists of more than six miles of red and blue neon
powered by 599 transformers; 50,000 pounds of steel
and 40,000 pounds of aluminum. Everything in the Music
Hall was designed and built on a grand scale. From the
ingenious dynamics of the Great Stage to the 24-karat
gold leaf of the Grand Foyer ceiling - the word is
Spectacular! |
