Roof
Garden at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Iris B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden opened to the public
in 1987. The first annual installations
against the skyline of Manhattan Showed modern sculpture from
the Museum's collection. More
recently the Museum has borrowed sculptures in order to focus on
an outstanding period in the
work of a single artist. The installation this year is devoted
to brightly colored cast or fabricated
sculpture conceived by the esteemed American artist Roy
Lichtenstein in the 1990s before he
died from pneumonia in 1997. View
