The lower flower bed contains 20,000 tulips which bloom in the spring.
The south (English) garden includes a reflecting pool filled with water lilies and goldfish. In the center of the pool lies the Burnett Fountain.
The entrance gates at 5th avenue and 105th street into the garden were installed in 1939. These gates were originally the gates of Cornelius
Vanderbilt's home which was torn down in 1927.
Free tours of the Conservatory garden are every Saturday at 11:00 am during Spring and Summer. |
